Bluff Point and Chapman Valley-Northampton are on overtime in this weekend’s Geraldton Bendigo Bank Cricket League.
They meet in the Young Motors Night Series at Wonthella on Friday night and again in a 50-over match at Muir Park on Saturday.
The Pointers had a great chance to beat Wanderers last week, but poor bowling wasted the 234 they set Wanderers to win.
To be fair, white balls are now used which are harder for bowlers to grip. The Pointers are not the only side to have sent down a surprising number of high full tosses.

Bluff Point captain Cody Doran said despite that defeat, there were good signs.
“Plenty of positives especially with our batting and nice for me personally to get some runs after a poor year last season,” Doran said.
“With the ball Antonio (Paradella) has started the year well and James Moody also had a great start to A-grade.
“But overall we bowled too loose to two of the comp’s best players who don’t give you much room for error. We need to hit training hard and put a whole game together.”
The Pointers batting can be iffy but Doran and Seb Bainbridge have built partnerships every game while Jayden Pinto is coming off a whirlwind 55.
“I’m excited about our T20 tonight and have faith that we’re a finals team … (we) need to get a little better at a few aspects and we’re competing with any team,” Doran said.
CVN will hope Nigel Routledge stays in form, Ethan McQuade, Seb Bedford and Jack Gray are available and Mitch Marsh has some luck with the ball. The side is better too with Matt Albanis back.

Saturday’s other 50-over game is at the Rec where Towns meet Sportsmans.
For Towns, Tom Forsyth last week became only the 10th from the club to attain 200 wickets while Austin Breen is 12 short of 500 career runs
For Sportsmans, Dan Welsh needs six wickets for 400 career scalps while Clint Yeates is three shy of 300 career wickets. Jarrod Jupp needs one wicket for 150.
In Sunday’s Young Motors Women’s T20s, CVN play Wanderers at Mazzuchelli Oval while Sporties and Towns clash at the Rec.
B-grade: Dongara v Bluff Pt (Dongara); CVN v Wanderers (Mazzuchelli Oval); Sports v Kalbarri (Wonthella).
