Western Bulldogs forward Jamarra Ugle-Hagan will take leave from the club amid personal issues.
The Bulldogs confirmed on Tuesday Ugle-Hagan — who has not played at any level this year and has been on a modified training program — confirmed he will spend more time away from the club.
In a short statement, the club said it had developed a management plan with the 23-year-old and that the decision for him to step away had been made with his family, management and the league.
“Jamarra’s health and wellbeing remains the absolute priority and he will be given whatever time he needs,” Bulldogs football poss Sam Power said.
“We will continue to support Jamarra throughout this period.”
Ugle-Hagan made a rare public appearance at the Indigenous All Stars match in Perth earlier this year, but has been training only periodically at the Whitten Oval and has not been attending the club’s matches this season.
