Police investigating collision on Brand Highway in Greenough that left 60yo cyclist critically injured

A cyclist sustained critical injuries in a serious crash with a truck in Greenough on Tuesday night.

Police are investigating the crash on Brand Highway that took place between a blue Kenworth truck and a cyclist about 6.55pm on Tuesday.

The cyclist — a 60-year-old man — was rushed by ambulance to Geraldton Regional Hospital for treatment of critical injuries.

A 42-year-old man, who was driving the truck, was uninjured and is assisting police with their inquiries.

A St John WA spokesperson confirmed a man in his 60s with critical injuries was taken to Geraldton Regional Hospital as a priority one case.

The call for an ambulance came at 6.50pm and the cyclist arrived at hospital at 8pm.

Investigators are conducting an examination of the scene and are appealing for any witnesses, including anyone who saw the cyclist prior to the crash, to make a report to www.crimestopperswa.com.au or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
