Stars descend on Manhattan, Madison Square Garden for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding

If there was ever a contender for the celebrity event of the decade, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding at Madison Square Garden was it and yet, somehow, key details including the bride’s dress remain a tightly held secret.

More than 1,000 guests gathered inside the iconic New York venue as Hollywood stars, music royalty, sporting legends and fashion icons descended on Manhattan by helicopter, private jet, chauffeured cars and even Uber.

Celebrity event designer, Edward Perotti estimated the wedding could cost up to $50 million and the guest list read like an awards show seating chart.

Among those reported to be in attendance were Jay-Z and daughter Blue Ivy, Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Lopez, Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt, Reese Witherspoon, Bradley Cooper, Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Selena Gomez, Benny Blanco, Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn, Camila Cabello, Jack Antonoff, Gracie Abrams, Ice Spice, Jimmy Fallon, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, Jessica Alba, Zoe Kravitz, Dakota Johnson, Lena Dunham, Abigail Anderson and Graham Norton.

Good Morning America host George Stephanopoulos attended and described the ceremony as “moving”, praising officiant Adam Sandler for striking the perfect balance between humour and heartfelt emotion.

“Vows, everything you would hope for, real, vulnerable, serious, and silly. Deeply loving,” he reportedly said.

“Who knew that a wedding in Madison Square Garden could be so intimate?”

An unnamed insider told PEOPLE of the ceremony.

“Taylor walked down the aisle to a stage where they said ‘I do,’” says the source, who adds, “their vows were about 20 minutes each,” and Swift and Kelce read them from gold books.

The pair also provided guests with embroidered handkerchiefs for any emotional moments throughout the evening.

“After the ceremony, Taylor’s mom invited everyone into the reception room where a stage was set up,” adds the source, who says Paul McCartney performed The Beatles’ beloved hit “I Want to Hold Your Hand”; Stevie Nicks was also on the lineup of A-list performers.

At the reception, guests ate bites from food stations with Italian cuisine, sushi and passed trays, and “there were bars everywhere,” says the source, who adds that despite the size of the venue, “It was very crowded!”

It was confirmed the singer wore Dior but, so far, no photos have leaked.

Swifts longtime publicist, Tree Paine, released a statement regarding the July 3 wedding that provided the only official details.

“Taylor & Travis did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, her (Swift’s) brother Austin Swift served as Taylor’s man of honour and Jason Kelce was Travis’ best man. The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friend Adam Sandler.”

AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron, in a now-deleted social media post, described every floor, wall and ceiling as being draped in peach and white, with oversized photographs documenting the couple’s lives from childhood through to adulthood.

He praised Swift’s “stunning white wedding dress with a long veiled train” and described the vows as “long, entertaining, personal, charming, emotional, irreverent and endearing.”

Fashion lovers were equally captivated.

According to Paine, both Swift’s wedding gown and Kelce’s ceremony attire were created by Christian Dior Haute Couture creative director Jonathan Anderson.

The statement described the bridal gown as Anderson’s first couture wedding dress designed — Swift completed the look with custom Christian Louboutin shoes and Cartier jewellery.

But fashion watchers had to make do with gushing over the guests’ looks, including Selena Gomez who showed off not one but two outfits – a gold beaded gown for the ceremony, and a black Oscar de la Renta dress for the previous night’s rehearsal dinner.

Outside the venue, Madison Square Garden displayed giant “Just T&T Married” advertisements, while the Empire State Building reportedly lit up in blue as a nod to the bride’s “something blue”.

The White House’s official social media account shared an AI-generated image referencing the wedding celebrations with the caption, “IT HAPPENED” when users clicked on the post they could see instead see an AI photo mimicking, the “just&t married” on TV advertisements outside MSG , with the words “Trump is your president”.

Guests departing the rehearsal dinner were photographed carrying matching black velvet boxes embossed with a gold “T&T” monogram.
